Melissa Bittrolff was born and raised in Queens, NY. She attended Hunter College for both undergraduate and graduate studies. Upon graduation, she secured a Bachelor’s in Childhood Education, a Master’s in Early Childhood Education, a bachelor’s in History, and a NYS Teacher’s Certification for both Birth – 2nd Grade and Grade 1 – Grade 6. Melissa has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for the past seven years, starting off as a Pre-K Teacher and eventually going on to become Educational Director.  She works for a non-profit organization such as the YWCA because it is the most rewarding work for someone like herself. Coming from a low economic community, she values the work that non-profit organizations do and the opportunities that they offer to the communities that otherwise may not be awarded such opportunities.
