Deborah McWhinney is Chief Operating Officer of Global Enterprise Payments at Citi. Deborah joined Citi in 2009 and was previously head of Citi Personal Banking & Wealth Management. Prior to joining Citi, Deborah was President of Schwab Institutional, an Executive Vice President at Visa International, and Bank of America. She was appointed by former President George W. Bush to the Board of Directors of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) in 2002.
Deborah is Global Co-Chair of Women4 Citi, which represents over 140,000 female employees and the Citi Pension Plan Board. She serves on the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) Board, California Institute of Technology’s Board of Trustees and on the Advisory Board of UCSF’s Teen and Young Adult Center. Deborah previously served as Chairman and Campaign Chair of the University of Montana Foundation.
Deborah was named to the list of “Top 50 Women in Wealth” by Wealth Manager in 2010 and was an honoree of the Aiming High Award by Legal Momentum, which was featured in ForbesWoman. She was on American Banker’s “The Top 25 Women to Watch” list in 2010 and 2011.
Deborah received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School. She currently resides in New York City.
