Maria is a Managing Director in Citi’s Financial Institutions Group responsible for originating a broad range of Corporate Finance transactions against a portfolio of Global Managed Care, Life Insurance and Specialty Finance clients. She originates a wide array of financial services solutions focusing on Capital Management, Capital Raising, Exposure Management, Fixed Income and Equity Derivative Hedging, Securitization and Acquisition Finance.
Maria joined Citi as a Management Associate in the Latin American Financial Institutions Group covering banks. After completing a study of Citicorp’s Mergers and Acquisitions experience, she then joined the US Financial Institutions Group covering banks and thrifts in New Jersey, then expanded coverage to larger market cap insurance and managed care clients. Maria began covering General Electric and General Electric Capital Corp. globally five years ago and maintains coverage of a broad life, property & casualty as well as managed care client portfolio.
Maria is a graduate from Georgetown University (Major: Finance) and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Maria is Co-Head of Citi Global Banking Recruiting effort, Global Banking Diversity Steering Committee as well as the Team Captain of Citi’s recruiting efforts for Georgetown University. Maria is married with two daughters and lives in New York City.
