Location, Hours and Contact Info

In 2006, the YWCA opened its first Family Resource Center at 500 West 56th
Street. Once again at the forefront of child development, the YW supports
and educates parents and guardians in the environment of a family center,
open to community residents Monday through Saturday.
Parents,
guardians and community members who turn to the new Family Resource Center
for guidance will access services such as educational training, support
to strengthen home-school communication and children's success in school,
employment skills training and counseling, financial literacy training
for adults, affordable healthcare referrals, and nutrition and wellness
workshops. The center will help stimulate positive community relationships
by helping families help themselves in a one-stop setting of much-needed
support and life skills services. The YW believes that the key to building
strong, self-sufficient and empowered families and communities is providing
accessible and effective family support services.
The YW's goal for the future is to open additional Family Resource Centers
in other communities where these services are needed.
