At the 37th Annual Salute Luncheon, the YWCA-NYC will introduce the most talented and influential women in business: the Academy of Women Leaders Class of 2010. We congratulate Marie‑Claire Barker, Chief Talent Officer, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York, USA, on this recognition, and look forward to honoring her November 5!

Marie-Claire BarkerIn her role as the global Chief Talent Officer, Marie-Claire Barker is responsible for developing senior leaders and identifying and coaching the best talent available. She maintains a strong partnership with the Office of Diversity and is a strong advocate for the advancement of women and people of color. In addition, Ms. Barker is the Executive Sponsor of the Ogilvy Working Parents Network and also serves on the Board of Junior Achievement, New York. Having worked for Ogilvy & Mather since March 2002, she moved to the role of Chief Talent Officer in January 2009.

Marie-Claire started her career in sales and marketing with Kimberly-Clark, and Britvic soft drinks. Her move to Human Resources came in 1995 when she joined Allied Domecq Spirits and Wine where she spent five years and held roles in International Leadership and Management Development, Organizational Development Management, and finally in Corporate HR based in Canada.

Originally from the UK, she lives in Manhattan with her husband and son.
